E-Mail this report to a friend

The special CBI court today granted bail to Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and rejected the plea of her husband and Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav in the disproportionate assets case.

Yadav was later sent to the Beur jail.

Earlier today, the chief minister and her husband surrendered before the special CBI judge S K Lal in the wake of the arrest warrant issued by the designated court yesterday.

The CBI special judge granted bail to the chief minister while rejecting Yadav's plea after hearing the writ application filed on their behalf after their surrender.

Rabri Devi was granted bail on two personal bonds of Rs 200,000 each.
