Bihar police gear up to contain PW, Ranbir Sena

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Bihar police have launched a crackdown on suspected hideouts of the People's War and the Ranbir Sena to prevent further violence between the two.

Six companies of military police and three of the Central Reserve Police Force have been deployed for anti-extremist operations in the 'tri-junction' of Bhojpur, Jehanabad and Patna.

A retaliatory attack by the Ranbir Sena, a private army of landlords, is expected after PW Naxalites gunned down seven of its activists and sympathisers in Rampur village, Jehanabad district, on Sunday evening.

This border village has more or less turned into a battleground between the two banned outfits.

Several new police pickets have been established. Security personnel have also been provided with extra ammunition, including grenades.
