Reasons : Few would have left a chance to be the PM that he had, if only he had succumbed to the temptation of

1) agreeing to Naidu's demand to grant AP 3000 crores in return of support, with a grave consequence to centre's financial health. 2) indulging in horse-trading with so-many 'others' and MPs in Congress/JD etc.

This shows a high respect for integrity, which the new governement does not seem to have any idea about.

Reasons : In the year of Political Scams and Scandles, I can't think to nominte any of the politicl heros (?) as the person of the year. Also, as the administration failed to figure out the political, their chances to become the person of the year are fad ed as well. So, let's look towards the sports Heros. The moderate performance of the Indian Cricket team and perticularly the over publicity and over confidence of Sachin Tendulkar keeps him away from the honour. And the ultimate selection comes to LENDER PAES, the only Indian individual Olympic Medal Winner after 1952. He dedserves the honour to be the PERSON OF THE YEAR.
