He returns as a director after the hugely successful My Autograph and the not so successful No 73 Shanthi Nivasa.

And like many other Kannada films, this too is a remake -- a remake of the Telugu super hit Vikramarkudu which was directed by Rajamouli and starred Ravi Teja and Anushka of Arundhati fame.

Though the Karnataka Film Chamber has cleared the film's title as Ee Shathamaanadha Veera Madakari, the film is referred to as Veera Madakari.

Actor-cum-director Dinesh Gandhi, a close friend of Sudeep is the producer of the film.
