Vikram K Kumar is on a high. In fact, the director of the bilingual 13B in Hindi and [Yaavaraum Nalam in Tamil] is "in an ecstatic mood" to be precise.
And he has every reason to feel elated. Not only is the Tamil version doing extremely well in Tamil, but it's script too has been purchased by Weinstein Company, a production house and distributor of Rambo 4, The Nutty Professor, The Reader and Outlander.
Shobha Warrier spoke to Vikram to find out more. Excerpts:
Is it true that the 13B's screenplay has been purchased by Weinstein Production House?
I still cannot believe it. I came to know the news from a newspaper. Then, Big Pictures called me to break the news. Big Pictures had a stall of their films at the Berlin Film Festival, and it was there that the company read the synopsis of 13B. Their representative came to Mumbai and saw the film and decided to buy the rights.
