One of the most successful films distributed by Moser Baer in home video in Hindi was Jab We Met. Now the film is being remade in Tamil as Kandein Kadhalai by Moser Baer, translated as I Found My Love.
The film is directed by Kannan who made the successful Jayam Kondan last year. Bharath and Tamannah portray the lead roles immortalised by Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor.
The man behind the entertainment wing of Moser Baer is G Dhananjayan, the chief operating officer.
In this exclusive interview, Dhananjayan tells Shobha Warrier why Moser Baer decided to remake the film in Tamil.
Why did you decide to remake Jab We Met, one of the most successful Hindi films made in recent times, in Tamil?
Jab We Met was a super hit Hindi film of 2007-08 and has been appreciated by both critics and mass. The concept of the film has been widely accepted and is relevant to every language audience. Hence, we decided to remake this film in Tamil. We will also be making a Telugu version soon.
