Bollywood's memorable car scenes

In the 1970s, it was the Impala. Whenever Bollywood producers needed a funky foreign automobile, they'd turn to this lowriding Chevrolet and turn up the grooviness.

Now, Bollywood does Lamborghinis and Ferraris just like everyone else, but it's not about what car you shoot: it's about what the shot does to the audience.

Here, in no particular order, are 10 great moments where characters attack, defend, argue and collide over cars, and even though we haven't ever had a good motorsport movie, these scenes show some car-bonding its impossible to escape.

Enjoy.

Don - Amitabh death scene

It's a helluva car sequence, with Amitabh Bachchan first using a gagged Helen as a human shield, brandishing an empty gun to threaten Iftikhar's DSP D'Silva and get his men to back off.

Soon, Helen's thrown fatally out of Bachchan's car, a hot nighttime chase follows, but eventually all things culminate in a lethally wounded Bachchan in Iftikhar's backseat, asking him to drive but dropping dead mid-command... with nobody seeing him die but the DSP.

A great, great scene.
