In a first, the Best Supporting Actress award was presented by past awardees in the same category. Eva Marie Saint, Whoopi Goldberg, Tilda Swinton, Goldie Hawn, and Anjelica Huston, all former winners, announced the winner -- Penelope Cruz for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
