Quite a few new telly soaps have cropped up on NDTV Imagine. Some are the regular soaps like Ekta Kapoor's Kitani Mohabbat Hai while others like Ghar Ki Baat Hai are the funnier, less dramatic sort.
Rajul Hegde takes a closer look at the women leading the new shows:
Kritika Kamra, Kitani Mohabbat Hai
Story in brief: Aspiring singer Aarohi (Kritika) falls in love with a man, whose ideologies are completely different from hers.
Know Kritika better: Kritika, 21, hails from Madhya Pradesh.
"I was studying at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi and was auditioning for another show on campus when people from the show asked me to audition for Kitani," Kritika says. "I auditioned and was selected. I had to leave my NIFT course and move to Mumbai for the show. After six months, I realised that this was what I really wanted to do. My parents are very supportive and excited about it."
Kritika identifies with her on-screen character quite a bit. The only different between them is that Aarohi is a singer while she 'cannot sing at all.'
Watch Kitani Mohabbat Hai from Monday to Thursday at 10.30 pm
