An alumni of the London University where she studied drama and theatre, Kalki moved to Mumbai two years ago to try her luck in Bollywood. And it looks like her luck held out -- her performance as Chanda in Anurag Kashyap's film has come up for much praise.

Now the actress has fans clamouring to know more about her, which they did during a rediff chat on Wednesday. For those of you who missed the chat, here's what transpired.

Kalki Koechlin answers, It was tough, it was challenging, I had to learn Hindi, and I had to find Leni and Chanda in one person.

kk asked, you speaking in tamil was awesome...very much natural...was it your voice...how did you do it...
Kalki Koechlin answers, I was born and brought up in Tamil Nadu, so I speak Tamil.

nitesh asked, were you tense doing such role its bold decision to act such role
Kalki Koechlin answers, I was glad to do this role. I knew the role had a lot of layers. It is bold but also very real and honest. I was tense only because I wanted to do a good job.

poi1 asked, what tempted u to take this film
Kalki Koechlin answers, The script, the quality of work I had seen in Anurag's and Abhay's [Deol] previous work and the idea of a strong female character with vulnerability and attitude.

Kian asked, Hi Kalki, Where are you orginally from? How did you land in Mumbai?
Kalki Koechlin answers, I'm originally French, born and brought up in South India, moved to Mumbai two years ago.

soumya_gemini asked, hi chandramukhi... 1st of all congrats for your good performance would like to see you in some more good ventures. secondly, i think u r d most youngest & refreshing Chandramukhi of Indian Cinema. how do you feel?
Kalki Koechlin answers, Thank you. I will try doing some more exciting and controversial roles! I feel good but nervous now because whatever I do next should be as good or better. Argh!
