'Sometimes you have to do things for entertainment'

You have seen all aspects of life -- from a struggling starlet, a life in prison and now stardom. What keeps you going?

I am a strong believer in God. In my tough times, I sought comfort by offering prayers to God. My message to people through this music album is that we cannot doubt God; He really exists and he does listen to our prayers. You just have to surrender to him and then he will give you the strength to cope with your hardships. I feel it is this faith that has helped me tide over tough times in jail after being deported from Portugal along with Abu Salem.

Even when you first started your career, you weren't a big star. You became famous because of your relationship with Abu Salem. When you look back now, are you grateful that you met him or do you have any regrets?

The past has hurt my parents and me. I have left it behind and I don't want to talk about it now.

You were very close to Rahul Mahajan [ex-Bigg Boss housemate] on Bigg Boss. Was it real or was it just for the cameras? Are you still in touch with him?

Most of the reality shows are scripted and sometimes you have to do things for entertainment. Rahul is a nice guy but we are nothing more than friends. I am really caught up with my work and don't have time to meet anyone.

What about the status of the various cases against you?

Most of them are cleared, except for the Hyderabad case. It will take time but we expect a favourable judgment.
