Whatever talk there is about Dhoom 3 is false, as far as I know. Secondly, the franchise belongs to Yash Raj Films, and they would know about Dhoom 3. I have made the first two films, and finished my contract. I have not been approached for Dhoom 3. If I was the owner of the franchise, I would keep one director for every two Dhooms because then there won't be a monotony.

But will I be open to directing Dhoom 3? Of course! I just don't want to do it back-to-back. Why should a director make the same film? Rajkumar Hirani made two Munnabhai movies, and now, he is making 3 Idiots. He'll do the next Munnabhai later. Every director wants a change so that he doesn't get repetitive.

How life is outside of Yash Raj?

Yash Raj is too safe and secure. You always tend to miss it once you've worked with them. I have a great relationship with them. Some people say I left on an acrimonious note and that relations are not good. But the fact remains that Kidnap's title and script rights belonged to Yash Raj, and they gave it to Ashtavinayak because I wanted to make it. It just goes to show that my relation with them is very good. I still take Adi and Yash Chopra's advice.

I had a three-film contract with them. I don't know why everyone thinks that after the contract ends and you leave, it means that you have had a fight.

The next step at Yash Raj could have meant turning producer, with the banner backing the project. I would have been the producer and director like Kunal Kohli. But I don't want to be a producer.
