Raat
After horror has reached the pits of mediocrity in the 1980s, with the Ramsays becoming a regular laughing stock with their farcical productions and tomato-ketchup gore, Ram Gopal Varma tried to resurrect the genre with this impressive pastiche of slasher-and-horror references.
The performances are powerful and the treatment naturalistic -- even if overdone -- and its overall slickness makes Raat a good watch.
