From Iqbal to Kotha Bangaru Lokam

As a child, Shwetha Prasad wowed the audience with her endearing performance in many television serials and films like Makdee and Iqbal. She even bagged a National Award for Makdee.

Now the child has grown up to an equally talented teenager as evident by her heart-warming performance as Swapna in her first Telugu film Kotha Bangaru Lokam opposite Varun Sandesh (produced by 'Dil' Raju and directed by debutante Srikkanth Addala). The film is running to packed houses.

Shwetha Basu Prasad (as she calls herself for this movie) reminiscences her experience of her first Telugu film and more to Radhika Rajamani. Excerpts:

Why this foray into Telugu films?

It was a good offer. We already knew about the banner. The story was good and I thought it was a good launch. I just wanted to have a good experience.

Did you get offers before in Telugu? If so, what made you choose Kotha Bangaru Lokam over others

I was offered a film by M S Raju earlier. But that movie was postponed and later on didn't happen.

Was that the one opposite MS Raju's son Sumanth?

Yes. Since that film didn't happen, I grabbed Kotha Bangaru Lokam as soon as it was offered to me.
