As the Tamil movie, Vaaranam Aaiyiram is the story of the coming of age of a young man, there are three women associated with the protagonist played by Surya, marking the three stages of his life.
The first woman is played by Divya Spandana, earlier known as Ramya. As the top heroine of Kannada, she first tasted success in Tamil with Kuthu and many started calling her Kuthu Ramya, which she resented.
After a long gap, she returned last year with Polladhavan opposite Dhanush. The film was a huge success.
