What else inspired you about the concept of Heroes?
Well, the moment Sameer Karnik told me the story, I was so impressed that I immediately jumped and said, 'Yes, I will do it'. Sameer just looked zapped and shocked! And I said, what kind of a director are you? You should have been happy, you know, and Sameer said, 'Well, I thought you would take your own time.' I said 'I love it, I want to do it.' The film just happened.
Any chance to drive home our Indianness, to go back to the soil, for me is special. Besides, the love I have for Salman in this film, is the old worldly kind of love. There is commitment and the love is strong enough to last for a lifetime!
What was the experience at Toronto like when Heaven on Earth! was screened?
I loved it. I am simply looking forward to that film. When they offered me the movie, I didn't think twice, I just jumped at the opportunity.
