'The love I have for Salman in this film, is the old worldly kind of love'

What else inspired you about the concept of Heroes?

Well, the moment Sameer Karnik told me the story, I was so impressed that I immediately jumped and said, 'Yes, I will do it'. Sameer just looked zapped and shocked! And I said, what kind of a director are you? You should have been happy, you know, and Sameer said, 'Well, I thought you would take your own time.' I said 'I love it, I want to do it.' The film just happened.

Any chance to drive home our Indianness, to go back to the soil, for me is special. Besides, the love I have for Salman in this film, is the old worldly kind of love. There is commitment and the love is strong enough to last for a lifetime!

What was the experience at Toronto like when Heaven on Earth! was screened?

I loved it. I am simply looking forward to that film. When they offered me the movie, I didn't think twice, I just jumped at the opportunity.
