The famously media-shy filmmaker refrains from making any public appearances or giving interviews. Except a couple to a movie magazine, one has not heard much from this man who, evidently, likes his work to do all the communication.

Even then, controversy has occasionally managed to besiege Aditya.

His marriage to interior designer Payal Khanna ended in divorce, followed by several reports linking him with actress Rani Mukerji, also a Yash Raj regular (Saathiya, Bunty Aur Babli, Hum Tum, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and the upcoming, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic) as the reason behind the marital split.
