A remake of the Amitabh Bachchan classic Don, Billa is about the most wanted, elusive don, David Billa (Ajit), and DSP Jayprakash (Prabhu). Jayaprakash replaces the simpleton Velu -- who looks exactly like Billa -- to help him catch Billa's gang.

The story of this legendary don has been seen on screen many times -- Amitabh Bachchan starred in the original Don, Rajnikant reprised the role in the first Billa, followed by Ajith's Billa and Shah Rukh Khan's slick Don.

Each director, including Vishnuvardhan, has given the films new twists and turns, lending freshness to all the remakes.
