'I hope to share screen space with dad'

How has life changed after the success of Jab We Met?

I am the same. It's just that people have started recognising my work, so that feels great. Deep down in your heart, everything feels right. I have become more confident.

What kind of characters would you like to play?

As an actor, you should be open to any kind of role. I prefer roles where I do not have to repeat my character. I want to explore my space. I think the number of films you do does not matter, the roles you play matters. Even if I do only 10 films -- if they have good roles -- I think I have succeeded as an actor.

What next?

I am doing Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminay, Ken Ghosh's film, a Yash Raj film and a film to be directed by my father [Pankaj Kapur]. I hope to share screen space with him too.

What kind of a relationship do you share with your father?

I am very close to dad. I share a lot with him. I idolise him. He has been a wonderful father and I admire him as an actor, as well as a person.
