This film was a remake of Selvaraghavan's super hit Telugu film, Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule starring Venkatesh and Trisha.

Selva's associate Jawahar remade it in Tamil with Selva's younger brother, Dhanush, who was riding high on his surprise hit Polladhavan.

Yaradi Nee Mohini also turned out to be a big hit like the Telugu one. Nayanthara acted quite well in the film.
