Gregory David Roberts, friend of Madonna and author of the bestseller, Shantaram, served as tour guide for the Material Girl and husband Guy Ritchie. Roberts gave them an authentic taste of Mumbai's melting pot of culture, stopping at the city's oldest synagogue, a century-old church and the Haji Ali dargah.

Just before noon, Roberts circled the Taj Hotel, in South Mumbai -- where Madge is staying with her family -- on his Royal Enfield motorbike. Soon after, the party utilised a private exit and headed for the day's first stop, Keneseth Eliyahoo synagogue, in the Khala Godha district, South Mumbai.
