 Review: Juno
That is the magic of Juno. Jason Reitman did cheekily well with the tightly scripted Thank You For Smoking, but here, as we see masked self-doubt and irresistible characters who initially make us smirk but then draw us into an affectionate embrace, he has made a small, modest marvel.
The detailing is spot-on, the soundtrack masterfully handled, and the humour intelligent, incisive and, very often, ruthless. And all this would have been nothing but dressing, if not for a stellar set of performances and a big, bad, messily-throbbling heart.
Juno rocks. Enough to make me cancel plans this evening to make sure I watch it again, propelled just by writing this review.
