In Noam Baumbach's moving dramedy, Linney has to contend with the paradox of success. Jeff Daniels plays her husband, a once-successful novelist now melting into mediocrity, even as she starts to find more takers for her own writing. Soon she is the successful one, in a relationship being torn further apart with every passing minute. A great role in a very smart film.
