They were very proud. I think they were the happiest parents when they learnt that I was going to do this film. I remember my mom shed a few tears too.

Did you have any problems with the story line where Taani doesn't recognise her own husband?

Initially, yes. When the script was narrated to me, I asked Adi how come this girl cannot recognise her husband. I came up with two answers -- one that Shah played the two roles so differently that I felt like I was working with two different people. Secondly, the blankness she came with, she almost looked through Suri.

They never had any conversation, they lived in the same house but led two different lives. Many times, it so happens that you feel like you have seen someone but you never would realise that it would the same person appearing differently.

I think when you go to watch a film, you should let yourself get lost in the film. You should not go with a cynical mind, then you will never enjoy the film. I think people who went with an open mind, loved the film.
