What is your best scene in the film?
There is an emotional scene with Priyanka. It reminds me of my boarding school days.
How has Karan reacted to the film?
He hasn't watched it yet. I haven't watched the final outcome myself. I still have about 10 days of shoot left in September. Karan was only there for the film's mahurat.
Karan has gotten over his 'K' fetish.
Yes, we are throwing it out now. This film is Dostana, then there is My Name Is Khan and Wake Up Sid. It was just a temporary blind belief.
Tell us about Dostana's music.
It took me a very long time -- nine months -- to okay the music. I have rejected almost 200 songs. Thanks to Vishal and Shekar to put up with me. They had almost lost hope of satisfying me. The music is more like the 1980's popish, upbeat and bouncy. It is fast and youthful.
What are your favourite films?
Brave Heart, The Pursuit of Happyness, Sholay, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Angoor.
Who are your favourite stars?
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
What next?
I am making an animated version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. KKHH will complete 10 years this October and my film -- called Kuchi Kuchi Hota Hai -- will be a tribute to it. We have already started on it.
