I got a call from Excel Entertainment. I thought it must be for some kind of a tie up as I used to get calls from all sorts of tie-ups with production houses and films. The line was transferred to Abhishek Kapoor, whom I knew as we wanted to tie-up with him when he directed Aryan. He said he wanted me to audition for his new film. I was taken aback. Anyway, I went for the audition. A few days later Kapoor called up and asked me to audition once again. I went and he narrated the script to me. He then said that I had to learn the guitar for the part. I was surprised as I was not sure if I was selected.

What is Rock On! about?

It is about four friends who want to make a band that is the best band in the world. Something happens and they all fall apart. Many years later fate conspires to bring them come back together. They decide to give it one last try. So the message is what if life does give you a second chance? What will you do?

What is your character in the film?

I play Vob, the backbone of the band. His work is to keep the music going and thereby keep the band going.

All of you have two looks in the film. What is all that about?

Yes. That is because we fall apart and come back together after a period of 10 years. So the look obviously needed to change.
