Starting with his film debut Dark City in 1950, Heston has starred in over 100 theatrical films and telefilms.
His early notable films were The Greatest Show on Earth (1952), Ruby Gentry (1952) and The President's Lady (1953).
In 1956, he got a big break in Cecil B DeMille's The Ten Commandments where he starred as the biblical figure, Moses. His booming voice was also used as the voice of God.
Two years later, he appeared in Orson Welles' critically-praised box-office flop Touch Of Evil.
