'The climate played spoilsport'

How different is the role from the ones you have already done?

The main thing is that the role I play is of someone who has grown up in Kolkata. The film itself has been shot with a fresh treatment. I have gone for such experiments earlier, Meesa Madhavan being one example.

In Calcutta News, my character is a genuine guy -- honest and very attached to his family. He comes across certain events which are beyond his wildest imaginations. How he tackles all those tough situations is what the story is all about.

Another aspect of the film is the technological development which has been worked on.

How was the shooting in Kolkata?

It was fun, though the climate played spoilsport at times. I have been there before and always liked the place and it's people.
