'The story is narrated by a puppet'

How does it feel to win the National Award for the best Telugu film and the best child artiste?

It is exciting. It's good that alternate cinema has a point of appreciation. I feel if every Indian sponsors a child's education, every Indian would be literate.

What made you produce the film? Was it the story? Is it because it is relevant to today's context?

There are lots of films based on issues. But I liked Bommalata… because the story is narrated by a puppet. Puppetry is a dying art form and it excites me to use it in the film.
