For the role, originally offered to Danny Denzongpa, who declined since his dates were already allotted for Feroz Khan's Dharmatma, the relatively raw Amjad Khan got into the ruthless skin of Ramgarh's most-feared dacoit with bursting intensity laced by undercurrents of perverse humour.
