'It was excellent to work with a baby'

Let's start with Heyy Babyy, that released last month. What was it like filming with a baby? She was seven months old, right?

Eight months. Little Johaina. It was tough but it was also a great experience. It was tough to the extent of us having to work around the baby's timing. She's eight months old; she doesn't quite know she's acting (laughs). Whatever she does, and if it fits into our scheme of things, we just had to accept. We had to go for take after take after take.

We made a lot of cutaway shots of the baby. They even had this animatronics baby, which didn't work. It looked more like Chucky (the doll from the horror film, Child's Play)!

But it was also excellent to work with a baby. Being around an eight-month-old baby brings out different facets of one's personality. Akshay (Kumar) would become a dad on the set. Even the producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, they're both fathers. The rest of us -- Riteish and myself, Vidya (Balan), Boman Irani (who is a dad too) have also spent a lot of time with the baby.

Did it take longer than usual to finish the film?

No, we finished the film pretty much on schedule.
