Most of the films you've signed are multi-starrers. Wouldn't you want to try a hand at solo roles?
For me, it's not about a leading or supporting role. What's important for me is that the script should be good; my role should be good no matter how small. I would give it my all. And with my performance, I would stand out irrespective of how many big stars I'm surrounded by.
Also, solo roles can be risky; the responsibility of the entire film rests on your shoulders. But honestly, at the moment, I don't think I'm marketable as a leading man. I would perhaps be open to it if a director is ready to invest about Rs 30 crores on the film.
I had a lead role in Sehar, it was a small but a good film. But it didn't do well at the box office. Except for the media and the people directly involved in it, no one else knew about the film.
You have another movie, Goal coming out soon...
Yes. I like this film. It has all the elements of a great film. It's a sports movie -- football, and it's patriotic. I play the captain of a struggling football team where I'm basically keeping the team together and motivating them.
