Edward Scissorhands (1990)
A combination of comedy, drama and fantasy, this film is about a shy and reclusive young man who has scissors for hands.
Directed and co-written by Tim Burton, the film starred Johnny Depp as the unfortunate young man trying to fit in when he falls in love with a young girl Kim Boggs (Winona Ryder).
But his handicap gets in the way and what follows is a tragedy of sorts.
Since then, the film has become somewhat of a pop culture icon and has inspired the gothic culture dresses modelled on Edward Scissorhands' look.
