The Bard's comedy revolves around two couples, a love potion and a mischievous fairy named Puck.

The film stayed loyal to Shakespeare's language and starred an ensemble cast starring Rupert Everett as King Oberon, Michelle Pfeiffer (Titania), Calista Flockhart (Helena), Dominic West (Lysander), Christian Bale (Demetrius) and Anna Friel (Hermia).
