The Chronicles of Narnia
This series of fantasy films from Walt Disney Pictures and Walden are based on the novels written by C S Lewis in the 1950s.
Written for children, these fantasy tales contain many allusions to traditional Christian ideas as well as some from Greek, Roman mythology and British and Irish fairy tales.
Children play central roles the adventures featuring a fictional place (Narnia) complete with talking animals.
The first movie on the series -- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe -- was released in December 2005. Directed by Andrew Adamson, the film was shot mainly in New Zealand, with some in Poland, the Czech Republic and England.
While the second, Prince Caspian, is expected in May next year, the third installment, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, will be out in May 2010.
