Chaitanya has been associated with the actor and Jnanapit award winner Girish Karnad for quite some time. He was an associate director to Karnad when the actor directed TV serials.
What is special about Aa Dinagalu is that Chaitanya has taken the help of Girish Karnad in scripting this film. Karnad also plays an important role in the film after a long gap.
Director Chaitanya says that he has tried to be as authentic as possible in the narration. "Though the film is based on Agni Sdihar's novel (Daadagiriya Dinagalu), I have tried to write a script that has cinematic elements. Film is basically a visual medium and I have tried to make this one visually stronger without diluting the elements of the powerful story," says Chaitanya.
