How has the newfound fame affected you?

I was a participant on the third season of MTV Roadies, so I've been in the public eye for a few years now. But after Chak De I feel I've been pushed into a position of responsibility. I have people coming up to me asking about what I could do for women's sports in India and stuff like that.

As a person, I've not changed. I think the people around me have changed; they look at me differently.

What's next for you?

I'm going through scripts, keeping an eye open for something good that I can sink my teeth into.

Besides films, what else have you been up to?

I've been going around India promoting Chak De. I've been busy with events and openings of products and shops. Bani, she's a Roadie of season four, has been chosen to endorse Reebok, I'd love to something like that.

What do you make of the fans' reaction to you and the film?

It's great. People approach me to talk about Chak De and my role in the film. Its encouraging. People always talk about how much the film means to them. They tell me how the cult status of the film has brought so much exposure to sportswomen in India.
