Other than the inclusion in the Indian Panorama, the film has been chosen along with Samir Chanda's Ek Nadir Galpo (Bengali) to represent the country at the Asian African and Latin American Competition at IFFI 2007.

Lenin Rajendran has to his credit films like Chillu, Meenamasathile Sooryan, Swathi Tirunal, Daivathinte Vikruthikal and Mazha among others.

Rathri Mazha is a story set in the backdrop of dance and music. The film narrates the story of a boy and a girl who meet via the Internet. The two fall in love even before they see each other outside the virtual world. And by the time they meet each other, they realise that what they see in real was different from what they had perceived.
