It is going to be an excellent year for south Indian films at the Indian Panorama feature film section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2007 at Goa.
Out of the 21 films selected for the Indian Panorama, 10 are from the southern part of India. Though Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Naalu Pennungal leads the list, it is Shyama Prasad's Ore Kadal has the distinction of opening the Indian Panorama feature section.
Directed by Shyama Prasad and starring Mammootty, and Meera Jasmine, Ore Kadal is based on the novel 'Heerak Deepthi' by the famous Bengali writer, Sunil Gangopathyay.
Meera Jasmine plays a simple housewife while Mammootty plays a world renowned economist in this Malayalam film. Both have given superlative performances. The others in the cast include Narain and Ramya Krishnan.
