Manju Warrier is an amazing actress whose place cannot be filled by any other actress. To be compared to her is itself a big compliment.
What are you doing in a film like Gaja, a Darshan centric action film?
I think it is wrong to slot me as an actress who does only artistic films. Even in Malayalam I have been a part of commercial films where the hero has more space. I do agree that Malayalam film directors and writers have the talent to weave powerful scripts for heroines. But how many such films will I get in a year? I think I should not restrict myself to artistic films.
What is your role in Gaja?
I play a traditional girl who has just returned from abroad after completing her studies. Despite being educated abroad, the girl is very traditional.
There is a commercial angle to the whole story, which I would not like to reveal. I am happy to be part of this Kannada film with a big hero like Darshan, who is also such a great human being.
