Meet the heroine of Sivaji

Did you feel you had a meaningful role in Sivaji?

I think so. But every one has to wait and watch.

How long did it take to shoot the film?

It was shot over 16 months.

How did you keep yourself involved in the character over such a period of time?

It was a beautiful character. The moment I thought about the character, I could connect to it continuously. I don't think I was disconnected from it.

How was it working with director Shankar?

I have learnt a lot from him. He has a lot to give to others. He is very meticulous, organised in his thoughts and knows exactly what he is doing. He is someone who can convert a dream into reality.

Did he get the best out of you?

Absolutely. We all worked hard. We used to discuss every scene days before shooting them. The whole script was emailed to me. We all knew our scenes, our lines, every shot.

Shankar's song and dance sequences are generally elaborate. How was it shooting them?

He had the best choreographers from Raju Sundaram to Lawrence to Brinda and Prabhu. So you can imagine.
