Some years later Suman donned the role of Lord Rama in Sri Ramadasu. He is also playing Lord Sathyanarayana in a forthcoming film and may be essaying the role of Shirdi Sai Baba and Raghavendra Swami.
As he was cruising steadily in Telugu, he tried his luck in some Kannada action films. "Thriller Manju roped me in to act in some of the movies.”
Suman is also keen on doing a film in Malayalam. “An artist always desires to act in different languages. I want to act in Malayalam as there is scope for natural acting."
His forthcoming projects include a movie being directed by Neelakantha besides the mythological ones on Sai Baba and Raghavendra Swami. "I was impressed by Neelakantha’s show and this film is about an NRI businessman and will be an entertaining film."
So, what does Suman have to say about the three decades in films?
"It has been an interesting journey so far. I thank God for keeping me going; the ship is still sailing. I want to continue acting as long as possible."
Perhaps a few years down the line Suman will don the director's cap and continue to entrench his place and etch his name in the annals of filmdom.
