Ask him about his entry to films and he is quick to say, "Destiny plays a different role. A car dealer friend (who used to supply cars to the film stars) told me to get into films. I was not interested."
"Then one day he took me to see director T R Ramana, who offered me a film. Since I had absolutely no knowledge of acting I took some time to decide. When I agreed to do the film I had to learn acting."
"I took dancing lessons in the morning and then would go for the shoot. I also watched movies in the theatre (as there were no video cassettes in those days) daily in the evenings."
Though Suman's first film Iddaru killadillu was released late, he was well on his way to carving a place for himself in the film industry.
Since more roles came his way in Telugu, he also learnt the language. Once the Telugu film industry shifted from Chennai to Hyderabad, Suman made Hyderabad his home.
