Working with Shankar, the director
Shankar eats and sleeps movies. He is driven by the passion to make films. He is so meticulous and does not compromise on acting or production values. I was amazed by the research he had done for Sivaji.
For instance, he got a six-door Mercedes Benz and got it painted for my character! He is careful about every detail. His crew, like him, is dedicated, and hardworking.
He does not compliment much. And when he does, it must mean that the shot was awesome. In fact, there was this shot where Rajni catches me and later, I catch him in a moving tempo. Shankar said it was 'fantastic'.
Highlights of Sivaji
I have seen some portions of the film. Sivaji is slick and one of the best-made films of from South. It is a movie that will appeal to all age-groups with a moral lesson or two.
Rajni's fans will enjoy it tremendously. Watch out for Rajnikanth's hairdos -- they are mindblowing. The characters are believable too.
Sivaji is a South Indian James Bond movie. It can't be made again, at least not immediately.
