'I want to do films that touch my heart'

There are many clauses in the contract.

The clauses work both ways. The good thing is that we both wanted to work with each other and this is how we got around to doing it.

Do you think this trend of signing bulk films spread over a few years will pick up?

It's a positive trend. The studio system has seeped into the film industry in a way. But it does not amount to an exclusive contract. Normally, what happens in a studio system is that when someone signs you up, you belong to them. That is not right. For a more professional way of working, there should be no restrictions. If a production house is interested in you and you want to work for them, then it's fine.

You get to be involved with the film right from the start. You get to know many things about the film and by the time you start working on it, things become much easier. I think it's a great way to work.
