Can you recall the struggle you had gone through before you signed Chellaata?
As you know I come from a village near Nelamangala, a periphery town in the Bangalore-Tumkur Highway. As I was good in mimicry, I wanted to be a part of television serials. I worked in tele-serials for Rs 250-Rs 300 a day.
When films happened, I was either a friend of the hero or part of the students group. Then came my big break when Udaya TV offered me an opportunity to anchor their show. That programme made me popular and financially secure. I do want to remember this phase where I had to face humiliation. I think in this industry, people know how to swallow insults and still hope for a bright future
What next?
I am now shooting for a film called Krishna by M D Sridhar who directed my first film Chellaata. I will also be working for Yograj sir's Galipata. And then there is Aramane to be produced by K Manju and directed by my actor-friend Nagashekhar.
