When did you feel that it would be an important film in your career?
I got an inkling on the day the film was released. After the first show at Sagar theatre in Bangalore, people mobbed me. Many people waved at me, crying.
I went to many places along with the team of artists and technicians, and found the response unbelievable. We saw large queues waiting from morning to buy tickets. We also saw people walking out of the theatres hailing the film. We were mobbed even in small towns.
Within a space of two weeks, two of your big films have been released, and three of your films are running simultaneously in cities.
I had not planned this. And I had no control over the releases of Hudugaata and Cheluvina Chiththaara. I finished Hudugaata, before starting work on Cheluvina Chiththaara. When Hudugaata was delayed, Cheluvina Chiththaara was released as planned.
Who were the people who supported you?
My brothers were very supportive. And there was always encouraging words from some journalist friends.
