Boy wonder Ganesh's dream run

Nearly 200 out of the 800 odd theatres in the state of Karnataka are screening either Mungaru Male, Hudugaata or Cheluvina Chiththaara -- all starring 'golden star' Ganesh.

At present, the star has just signed Galipata to be directed by Mungaru Male director, Yogaraj Bhat.

But things were different six months ago when he was just another actor, doing comedy roles. He was better known for anchoring the television show Comedy Time for Udaya TV.

But the release of Mungaru Male on December 29 last year changed all that. Though Chellaata, his first film as hero had a 100-day run in a theatre in Bangalore, it did not do anything for the actor.

Read on as Ganesh reveals the miraculous turnaround to fame.

Did you expect this kind of change after the release of Mungaru Male?

I never dreamt of anything like this. I just wanted my director to succeed as he had worked very hard. I also wanted my producer (Krishnappa) to get back his investment. I did not wish for anything more than this.

An Urdu couplet says that when God decides to give something, he gives it with a bang. And that's what happened with Mungaru Male, I suppose. The success is beyond my expectations.
