Sarath, known for his action masala films, turned different in Gowtham Menon's Pachaikili Muthucharam.

He took everyone by surprise with a subdued and natural performance as Venkatesh, a medical representative. His body language and expressions looked every inch an ordinary married man trying hard to keep his family happy. His pain, dilemma and fear also were quite identifiable. Sarath was truly a revelation in this film.
