Top performances of 2007 from Tamil cinema
The year 2007 has seen some excellent, praiseworthy performances in Tamil cinema. That's also because of the realistic films made in the first half.
Satyaraj, in Periyar
Undoubtedly no other actor could come anywhere near Satyaraj in 2007 so far. As Periyar, Satyaraj was literally living the role. Like Gnana Rajasekharan, the director of Periyar said, Satyaraj 'portrayed the role in a very sophisticated and subtle way, the way actors performed in a Satyajit Ray film. He improvised and brought out more than what I had written in the script. He was a revelation for all those who watched him.'
It was truly a National Award worthy performance.
